They aren’t very sociable with other villagers but have unique dialogue that gives them an edge compared to the other Animal Crossing villager types. Snooty-type villagers are very similar to Cranky ones in the sense that they are somewhat self-absorbed, but they tend to focus on gossip and fashion rather than on missing trends. In large quantities, it may start to seem like every Animal Crossing villager hates each other.
It doesn’t add up that every single villager is out of touch - wouldn’t that make them all in touch with each other? Regardless, given their otherwise secluded nature, it can be hard to converse with all these characters and have them form relationships over the course of the game. On top of that, inserting multiple cranky villagers into a New Horizons village like the maligned Monty or Limberg doesn’t make a whole lot of sense. These characters will often talk about how out of touch they are and complain about various events and items around the island, making them fun in short doses but a buzzkill in large ones. One Cranky-type villager like Apollo can add a much-needed amount of zest to daily interactions, but get too many of them on one island and it’ll start to get annoying. Whether weight training or running around town, putting these villagers together in an Animal Crossing island is a recipe for disaster.
However, jocks in particular don’t often seem to talk about others without mentioning themselves. Aside from the New Horizons villagers chastising players for being away, many of the personality types get along fine with the player character and other community members. Putting all of these villagers into a town together means that they’ll often just be talking about personal betterment.
Many players consider Moose, Louie, and Coach some of the worst offenders for being pushy as well as hard on the eyes.
TAD ANIMAL CROSSING FULL
It’s a strangely specific interest in a world full of cranky and peppy alternatives, with villagers specifically calling out their glutes and biceps. Being inundated with talk of muscles not only wears on players fast, it’s also a tad intrusive and strange. These characters have gained a reputation for only talking about fitness and not actually doing any fitness themselves. Of course, at the top for worst Animal Crossing combinations is an island full of Jock-type villagers. Contrasted with the Animal Crossing villagers with the most interesting personalities, below are some of the worst villager personality types to have coagulated in one village, as well as the worst offenders to combine together. Some may be fine on their own, but often, having everyone talk the same will make the island sound like a suburban nightmare. Variety is the spice of life, and so if a player were to fill their entire New Horizons island with one type of villager, it would become grating very quickly. Villagers of the same type pull from the same possible conversations, meaning that an ideal village would have a lot of different types to mix up dialogue options. Each villager has one of nine possible personalities in New Horizons tied to gender, ranging from lazy to peppy.
